Process
Anyone may propose a change to any rule, weight or anchor. Every change follows the same route in public and the council publishes changes as appropriate following review.
Anyone may submit a change in writing, naming the section or criterion, the problem it causes in a real event, and the replacement text.
Not all proposals will be accepted. Accepted proposals are published for a 30 day comment period before any vote. Comments and the council's responses are published alongside the proposal.
The board votes in the open and records the count. A member with an interest in the outcome declares it and recuses.
Adopted changes ship as a new version with a dated changelog. The superseded version stays online at its own address, so a past event's results stay readable against the rules it actually used.
Limits
A standards body is defined as much by what it refuses as by what it publishes. These are commitments, not descriptions of current circumstances.
Propose a change
Name the section or criterion, the problem it caused at a real event, and the replacement text you would put in its place. Every proposal that is accepted goes to public comment before any vote.
Send a proposal
