A plain account of the small amount of data this site sees, and what we do and do not do with it. Effective 14 August 2026.
We publish a free judging standard. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, runs no third-party analytics, and never sells or shares data. We keep a simple, first-party count of page views to know whether the standard is being read, and we do not store your IP address.
This site, pitchcouncil.org, is operated by Pitch Competition Standards Council LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (the “Council,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers pitchcouncil.org and the pages served under it.
Page views. When you open a page, our own server records the visit: the page address, an approximate city, region and country, your browser’s user-agent string, and a short one-way fingerprint derived from your IP address and user-agent. That fingerprint is salted and rotated daily, so the same visitor can be counted once within a day but cannot be followed from one day to the next. We do not store your IP address itself.
No cookies for visitors. We set no advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we embed no third-party trackers, ad networks, or social widgets, so there is nothing here to consent to. A signed-in administrator’s session uses a single functional login cookie; ordinary visitors get none.
Anything you send us. If you email us, propose a change, or raise a challenge, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write.
To understand how many people read the standard and roughly where from, to answer your messages, and to keep the site secure and working. We do not use any of it for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions, and we do not sell or rent it.
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes requests at its edge to serve and protect the site and keeps its own standard request logs under its policies. Email we receive is handled by our email provider. We do not share data with anyone else except where the law requires it.
Visit records are kept as pseudonymous analytics for as long as they are useful and are not tied back to you. Email correspondence is kept as long as needed to handle the matter and our record of it.
You can email us at any time to ask what we hold about you or to have correspondence deleted. Depending on where you live — for example the EU, the UK, or California — you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Write to us and we will honor them.
This site is meant for competition organizers, judges, and entrants. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date above.
